Summer ends in Saigon

What a busy summer starting with the exhibition of the Chungking Mansions photographs bringing in visitors from America, Butan, Japan, France, England, Russia and many other places. It was a wonderful experience working with the gallery owners, my generous mentors and sponsors, the printers and so many others. It couldn't have been as successful without their support. Straight after the exhibition came guest tutoring at the Nic Dunlop Photography Workshop, which reminded me how rewarding teaching can be--I taught English to non-native speakers of all ages for thirteen years and ran my own school for six. We all have secrets. I have been very fortunate to have several world-renowned photographers as my mentors over the years and it's time to share the knowledge and experience. The students were fantastic coming from Germany, Ireland, the Philippines and other places. And now, back in Saigon, it's time to return to the existing projects: finding the next art space for the Chungking Mansions photographs or perhaps a publisher, more photos to add to my personal project Full Metal Sunhat: Grannies of Vietnam, and many others. I look forward to keeping you posted. I hope you've had a wonderful summer, too.
